Foot Actuated Camera Controller

I have wanted to blur the line between stop-motion and time lapse photography. One way that I wanted to do this was to be in the frame while make at stop motion film. I needed a way to control the camera while still having the use of both hands in the scene. I accomplished this by making a foot controller for the camera. The controller is a hinged plywood jig holding my remote camera trigger, allowing me to step on the jig and fire the camera without damaging the remote camera trigger.

Great idea! While watching I though of maybe wiring up a bite controller that can be triggered using your mouth allowing you to move freely with your arms and legs.

These are some great tips, and I really like your production quality, but it seems to me some video editing software out there must be able to turn 30 fps video into stop motion.

Frank Idea is great but in some cases you can do some aftereffect scripting instead of dancing – for example – remove every 3nd frame or similiar

Your videos continue to inspire and amaze. I'm a filmmaker/photographer first… but my passion lies in creating. I love projects, woodwork, painting… anything where I get to make something that didn't exist before… especially if it tells a story. That's what stands out about your videos to me. You sir, are an incredible story teller. Your woodwork is incredible, I don't think anyone would question that… But the way you tell the story of each piece and these innovative creations you come up with to tell the story the way you want to tell it. It's seriously beautiful. You're an inspiration and raise the bar for creating in all the right ways.

i wonder if you would turn the weight of your heel to depress the shutter button would be less taxing and eliminate the funky dance moves, although you may have inadvertantly created the latest dance craze to follow the steps of gangnam style and the mackerena

Hello Sir! I used to design effect pedals in the past, and for experience I know that the pushbuttom that is in the remote control won't last too much time if you use it that way. My advice is to rewire the remote control and use a proper foot-operated switch: (http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4SFSSPDT-MP-p/800-1008.htm) You are a genius, you probable know who to rewire it, but if not, am more than happy to assit you :D
